This live record was captured over the past two years in the hip S.F. enclaves where many have made history to ears, but usually not recorded. These shows were taped in curiosity, posterity, and self-inspection, but the recordings revealed an unexpected spontaneity and sense of humor that compliment the previously released studio recordings. Where once was a polite polished pop production, is now a raucous rock 'n roll review, with improvisations that will surprise. Furthermore, the intimacy and immediacy of some of these live vocal and guitar performances obliterate my memories of the album versions!

Whether it's in the basement martini garden of the polite cash-is-king Cafe Du Nord, or in the unwieldy ass-market of the Mission hot-spot Make-Out Room, CvS delivers. As a member of the captive audience at these shows, I can say that these recordings offer a sneak peek into a wild world of CvS!
